2. Interglobe Aviation (Indigo):
Indigo is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Mumbai, and it is the oldest, largest, and most profitable Indian airline. Indigo operates flights to several destinations in India and abroad. The company has a fleet of over 277 aircraft, including 48 Airbus A320-200, 142 Airbus A320neo, 52 Airbus A321neo, 35 ATR 72-600, and another 204 Airbus A320neo, 255 Airbus A321neo are on order as of March 2022. Indigo currently operates 1500 daily-in flight and outstation flights to 71 domestic and 25 international destinations. It has its main hub at Indira Gandhi international airport, Delhi.
3. Jet Airways:
Jet Airways is an Indian airline headquartered in Mumbai; a subsidiary of Jet Airways (India) Limited. It is the country’s largest private airline. Jet Airways is a low-cost carrier, and it features onboard Wi-Fi and complimentary in-flight meals during its flights. As of Nov 2021, Jet Airways has a mixed fleet of over 9 aircraft, including 3 Boeing 737-800s, 1 Boeing 737-900, and 5 Boeing 777-300ER operated by Alliance Air. It also operates over 300 flights daily to 74 destinations worldwide as per the reports of Nov 2021.
4. SpiceJet:
SpiceJet is an Indian low-cost carrier headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana, and India’s fastest-growing airline company. This Indian airline offers low fares with complimentary meals and onboard entertainment to its passengers. In 2021, the company reported a fleet of over 102 aircraft, including Boeing and Q-400s with a new generation of 5 Boeing 737-700s, 36 Boeing 737-800s, 13 Boeing 737 MAX8, and 1 Boeing 737-900s with winglets and operating flights to several destinations in India and abroad. SpiceJet currently employs over 630 daily-in and outstation flights to 54 destinations in India and 15 international including London, Bangkok, Delhi, Hyderabad, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur.
5. Vistara:
Vistara is an Indian low-cost carrier with its headquarters in Gurgaon, Haryana. It is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines. Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) awarded Vistara a license to start international operations from India by the in June 2016. In 2021, the company reported a fleet of 51 aircraft including 40 Airbus A320s and 4 Airbus A321, 5 Boeing 737 NG / Max, and 2 Boeing 787. The company has plans to expand and increase its fleet size to 57 aircraft by 2025. It currently operates to 6 destinations, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Dubai Int’l Airport.
6. GoAir:
GoAir is an Indian airline based in Mumbai, and it is one of the major airlines in India. As of Sept 30, 2021, GoAir operates with a fleet of 57 aircraft of which 50 aircraft are A320 NEO aircraft and 7 are A320 CEO models. Currently have an order book of 94 A320 NEO aircraft and expect to take delivery of 10 in 2022 and 10 in 2023. GoAir operates over 100 flights daily to 39 destinations of which 29 are domestic and 10 are international. The company also offers connectivity between tier 2 cities and metros through a medium-sized airport network. GoAir is now rebranded as Go First by Wadia group after 15 years of flying in international airspace. It is one of the fastest-growing Indian airlines.
